I saw this post on Stephanie’s Making Time for Me blog and wanted to participate. I thought it was a great way to get to know me and for me to know you. I want you to join in on the fun as well.
- Where Do You Blog? Usually at work. I draft out my ideas and work on them at home. Rarely do I write a new post at home from beginning to end. I haven’t hooked up my desktop since I moved so I hate blogging on the laptop. Not sure why, but it is easier when I’m sitting at a desk to organize my thoughts.
- Where Do You Find Inspiration For Your Blog Posts? Everywhere. This blog is a reflection of me and my life and everything around me. I love being able to bring you into my world and walking with you on this journey.
- How Long Does It Take You To Write a Blog Post? About an hour depending on the subject. If it’s a hot topic it may be longer. If not I pretty much know what I’m going to say.
- Do You Plan Your Blog Posts? How? For the most part yes. I have an outline of topics that I want to talk about and then I write the posts and schedule them. If something news breaking happens I write those impromptu.
- What Kind of Camera Do You Use? What Editing Program? Usually I take photos on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. I mainly edit them on Photo Grid and post them.
- Do You Use a Notebook To Track Your Ideas? Yes, believe it or not. I have a journal that a friend gave me for Christmas and I journal my ideas and thoughts. I’m old school like that. LOL.
- How Do You Take Your Pictures? My cell phone.
- What’s Your Favorite Type of Blog Post to Write? My parenting stories are my favorite. Whether it be my co-parenting struggle or my son’s accomplishments, those are definitely my favorite.
- Who Knows About Your Blog? Umm, I don’t know. Apparently a lot of my church friends read them. Some I didn’t even know of. It’s weird. My friends read my posts (the guy I dated a couple of years ago, my best friend Nikki and Mr. C). My cousins read my blog, but my siblings or mother don’t. That initially bothered me but I read a post on someone’s blog that said something like “your journey is not theirs and you can’t resent folks for not taking it with you.” That was pretty powerful and I stopped worrying about who didn’t read it. However, it is a requirement to be in a relationship with me.
- Are You an Organized or a Messy Blogger? I would say organized. I’m a planner so I tend to utilize that need to plan out things to my advantage. I’ve not posted because I didn’t have anything to say so I don’t just do it for the clicks. I do it because I want to bring you into my world.
- Biggest Blogging Pet Peeve? Bloggers that don’t engage with their readers. When I’m the only one reading and commenting on your posts and you never take the time to do the same, I stop reading. I read between 150-250 posts a day and although I don’t comment on every single one, I do like, tweet and reblog some great posts. I try to let the bloggers know that I’m engaged. I appreciate the same courtesy.
150-200!? Dang! I had no idea that was even possible. Good on ya for keeping up with it all. 🙂

LOL. During the evenings. During my day at work.

Nice post 🙂 I wish I could read half of that many posts a day!

Thanks. It’s harder on Mondays because I read more since I tend to take the weekends off.

Hi there! I REALLY like your response to number 9! Gave me a renewed peace to stop being so concerned that my family and friends do not support me. It hurts but Luke you said, I can’t get offended because they choose not to journey with me. I feel like I got to know you better as a writer and we have lots of similarities:-) Blessings to you my blogging buddy and thanks for sharing!😄

Thanks sis. It was heartbreaking at first but this is my journey not theirs.

support, sistah!

Yes. We all get busy, but I know those bloggers that never comment on my blog or like a post. I then unsubscribe and move on. We all want engagement.

It’s logical to expect comment when you do. Engagement matters! Great post… led me to know more about you

Aww, thank you so much. You would be surprised the number of folks that don’t respond or engage though. It’s heartbreaking.

I know. I too follow them, while I enjoy their write up, I have stopped commenting. Some of them don’t even respond to questions! I guess they’re not here for interactions..
I say to myself -they don’t know what they are missing!

Yep. I actually skip them in my blogging reads because I don’t want to waste their time by reading and writing and they can’t or won’t engage.

Great! I was wondering how does she turn out these posts on a daily basis…I admire the process. I need to do better, I have things to say but I put them off. I have so many drafts in my list that I need to complete. Procrastination and laziness is my WEAKNESS!!!!

LMAO. Yes sis! You have to outline and work on your drafts, schedule your posts. It is sometimes consuming but I feel like I’ve accomplished something when I can post for 5 consecutive days.

Thanks and I will. I was like with everything that she has going on, how in the world does she make time to post and write daily. That is the reason I haven’t posted in a long time. I wasn’t inspired to write about much. I have been in this space in my head. Thanks for the advice.

Nope. Write what makes you happy. Write about the darkness and the light and the struggle to find balance. Write about the funk. Just keep writing. Even if it is a few words.

Great post, Tikeetha! I agree with quite a bit of this post. I don’t like it when I get zero response or a Blogger disables comments. It just seems kind of rude. At least like the comment or use a smiley face? Lol. I’m kind of a messy blogger but I’m starting to get a routine down. I carry a $2 notebook with me most times.

Thanks Lisa! I’m okay if you don’t like a post daily but dang every 2 weeks is not too much to ask when I’m commenting and interacting with you. It is a little ungrateful. So, you write down your thoughts too?

I have the notebook in case an idea comes up.

I felt the same way about my immediate family not reading, only my sister and father, and husband too. In a way, I almost wish it were just strangers….too many times I have to edit what I’m writing…I know…bad….but too many things get taken too literally I think…I hate having to explain the strange goings on in my head 🙂

LOL. No explanation needed. It’s the strange things that we connect too. We sense a kindred spirit.
