Weekend Coffee Share – 8/6/2016

Hey Loves!

If you and I were having coffee, I would tell you how tired I am. Some mental and some physical exhaustion. I would offer you a venti iced coffee with cream and 4 splendas and a seat. I would tell you how happy I am that you decided to join me this weekend for coffee and a chat because I’ve missed you.

If you and I were having coffee, I would tell you that this has been a week of adjustments. I felt pulled, pushed and stretched with some things that were happening, but I know not to take it personally. Sometimes we have to be pliant in order to be ordered in the right direction for the path we are walking.

If you and I were having coffee, I would tell you that I got to have Happy Hour with my former boss this week and we hadn’t gotten together in a year. She looks absolutely amazing. She’s 51 and still has it going on. She has an aura of happiness surrounding her. Peace was in her eyes and her smile. I asked her what was the secret? She said “No secret. I just believe that if you put out good and positive vibes and you live a life of good and decency that you will attract like minded things. I am loving what I’m attracting.” I smiled. How awesome is that?

If you and I were having coffee, I would tell you that my Munch is still coming along. He is congested and has a low grade fever, but he’s in good spirits. We had to push his first guitar lesson back until next week. I’m hoping to get him out of the house this weekend for some fun and sun. I know he’ll be exhausted, but I want him to remember what it’s like being outside and feeling the sun on his skin. Too sappy? Forgive me.

If you and I were having coffee, I would tell you that Mr. C and I are planning a trip to The Corning Museum next month and of course to see Niagara Falls. The kids are out of school one Friday so we are going to head out of town for a quick getaway. It will be the first time our children will meet and the first time we’ve done a road trip with them. We are excited. I got the idea about the museum from a fellow blogger, Kool Aid Moms. She has a great blog and here’s the post that inspired me:  On The Road Again Part VI.

If you and I were having coffee, I would tell you that I learned that you have to be able to let go and let flow. Life can take you on a tumultuous ride down a raging river, but you just need to wear your life jacket, hold on to the boat and go with the flow of the waves. You can’t fight the strength in the wave. You just need to be able to adjust your attitude while traveling. There’s always a lesson in the ride.

If you and I were having coffee, I would tell you that my Munch is officially registered at his new school. Yay! School starts in less than 3 weeks and I’m preparing like mad (not really) to get the things he needs. I’m just in shock at how quickly the summer has passed. I need more time, more pictures and more memories.

That’s all for me. What’s going on with you?

  1. I love the thought of the raging river and adjusting your attitude to the situation. Honestly, that’s something I needed. I’m glad Munch is feeling a little better and I hope he continues to do so!

I’ve recently been through a break-up and that’s been tough. It’s not been horrible but it has had its difficulties. I don’t really know how to explain it but I feel as though I’m steadily slipping back into a hard place. I don’t want to and I’m trying to fight it but it’s becoming more and more of a fight every day.

Other than that I’ve been visiting my family and trying to figure out how to handle a steady onslaught of old bills, new bills, and no money.

    God is good, though.

    1. It’s okay to slip but don’t stay stuck Matthew. You have to be willing to be pliant. Fighting exerts more energy then just relaxing and going with the flow. Focus on the light at the end of the tunnel and imagine a way out of this difficult time. Yes, we serve a mighty God. Bills will always be there. Remember to stay steadfast and unmoveable knowing that our God is a provider always. Sending you prayers my friend!
