Who Am I?

I am a woman, mother, daughter, sister, friend and businesswoman. Many titles, but the most important one is definitely mother. I have one son who is the light of my life. I found that blogging during my pregnancy helped me journal my thoughts so this became my high horse journalistic point of view.

Four years ago I started writing more after I found myself living in hell. I was a wreck because my marriage had ended and we were volatile. We couldn’t get along and I couldn’t understand why the man who vowed to love me was treating me like crap?  I went into therapy and I was determined to find out what my issues were because let’s be real, everyone has them.

I realized that I was one of the problems. I had just scratched that surface and when I started to journal my pain it became my life story. That story is a deep and powerful one that I will be turning into a book shortly, but let’s say that it was both painful and cathartic.

So, in this journey from marriage to divorce, dating, parenting and everything in between, I try to journal my thoughts and share my experiences. There is a breadth of development that has taken place in me and I am thankful for the experiences, I will share them. I crave interaction and comments whether on my Facebook page or on this blog. I promise I will respond.

Sit back, read and be engaged with me. I promise you won’t be bored because I will talk about social injustices, parenting, dating, relationships and everything in between. I will post poems, short stories, published pieces and reblog inspirational, informative and educational information to you.

Let’s engage!

  2. Hello am blown away, great read. I can relate to you having a child who is the light of my life and I can also relate to going through hell, not because of a divorce but being a single mother after losing the father of my child through a tragedy. All in all, am surprise am still here and that I made it, cause I lost hope, being sad and down for quite sometime. I woke up one day and started loving myself, loving myself so hard and just started seeing life as a beautiful thing. I prayed, I cried and prayed and cried some more but am much better now. So I just want to say be encourage and keep doing what you do and thanks so much for dropping by my blog and liking my blogpost.

    1. Thank you. Girl, it’s God! He gives us these little gifts to love and take care of and in the midst of all the pain we could ever go through we know that we have to be strong. For them. It is sometimes in the deepest pain we find our voice and realize that we are made stronger. Praying for you sis!

  3. Very intriguing because I got divorced 8 years ago, remarried now and ecstatically in love with my husband, family and life. Co-parenting sucks for me because my ex sucks! But oh well, so glad to meet you.

    1. I’m hoping that it won’t continue to suck for me either. We are in a very acrimonious situation and I pray that we work it out because we have a beautiful little boy that adores us both. Thank you for stopping by.

I read what you wrote. I have also been through divorce. I can relate to not understanding how someone who vowed to love you could treat you so badly. You are an engaging writer.

  7. Tikeetha, people with life experience have a wealth of knowledge to impart. I think it’s wonderful that you are willing to share that knowledge from your own experience. This is not to say other people don’t have similar experience, but many choose not to share it, and that sadly means so many other people do not not get to benefit from it, as a result. Also, I want to say a word of thanks for choosing to follow my ramblings over in ‘The Attic.’ Usually I have to drag unsuspecting readers over there. Fortunately, you came of your own free will which saved me on bribery money this month. I can’t tell you how happy my wife will be. That’s because, she probably won’t be, seeing as I still won’t come in under budget this month. But, at least you tried to save me from myself. Thanks again. 😀

    1. LOL! Thank you! I found you from another blogger I follow. Can’t remember whom but when I saw your post I laughed hysterically and decided to follow. Apparently I need more laughter in my life. Can’t wait to read your posts.

      1. Oh Tikeetha, I’m so sorry, but my wife say’s that I’m a work in progress and she’s hoping I’ll be more respectable in the future—as that usually translates into making more money. Now as for your lapse of memory please don’t worry, because I think that’s my fault. I’ve heard that my writing has been known to give people fits of amnesia. Why just last week, Sarah Palin—former running mate of John McCain, former governor of Alaska, and former mother in-law of her daughter’s former husband, wrote to tell me that a candidate she follows and endorsed—but whose name she can’t recall because he lost in the Iowa Primary—used to read and laugh at my writing, but has since abandoned my reading blog, because I tried to forget who he was. Apparently, so did voters in Iowa. In all seriousness though, I’m very happy I can make you smile. My wife? Well she’s still a work in progress. However, just last week our children tell me she almost smiled at something I wrote, but sadly it just turned out to be gas. 😀
