Today is my birthday.
My 45th to be exact.
I’m ecstatic. It’s a new decade. It’s 2020. I’m alive. I’m blessed. I’ve missed you all so very much these last few months. I know that my writing was inconsistent. I was being pulled in many directions. I slacked off and lost focused so that I can be an ever present daughter and mom and still work.
However, I thought of each and every one of you often. I prayed for you and your families. I tell you that the blogging world is my family.
I survived 2019 and my goal in 2020 is to thrive. To be ever present. Ever grateful. Ever stronger. I am planning to win. I pray that you are too.
I learned that in 2019 that God has given me an internet family that I can call my own. I actually met two new internet friends in person last year.
But, before I get off topic, I wanted to share with you my #45 life lessons that I’ve learned along the way in honor of this awesome birthday:
- Life isn’t fair.
- Show up and show out.
- Be intentional.
- Love like there’s no tomorrow.
- Forgive yourself.
- Forgive others.
- Love yourself truly, madly and deeply.
- Believe.
- Have hope.
- Have faith.
- Make better choices.
- Leave if you want too.
- Leave if you need too.
- Choose you.
- Choose happiness.
- Release negative people.
- Release negative thoughts.
- Trust again.
- Get therapy.
- Set goals.
- Achieve your goals.
- Meditate.
- Protect your brand/name.
- Love again.
- Tell people you love them.
- Own your truth.
- Travel.
- Drink wine.
- Love what you do.
- Journal.
- Be willing to change.
- Pray.
- Take plenty of pictures.
- Smile often.
- Get a yearly check-up.
- Exercise occasionally. LOL.
- Drink water.
- Do what you want.
- Find your purpose.
- Write your own rules.
- Re-write your rules if you feel like it.
- Give freely.
- Dream often and in color.
- Survive.
- Thrive.
I got to be honest – this list was done at age 43 but I added the last two bullets because these were the most crucial lessons I’ve learned. My plans today are simple – take off a half day (yes, I’m working) and do what I want. Munch is taking me to dinner tonight and I’m super excited to spend that time with him.
I am thankful that you keep following this blog and I pray that you know that I am thankful for each and every one of you. I pray that you have an amazing 2020! Happy New Year loves!

My favorite is rewrite your own rules – I do that all the time. It makes sense. If you keep breaking the rules, maybe it doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. Maybe there’s something wrong with the rules.
