His Plan

So, we’ve all been there. Where? To the depths of hell swimming like a madman without a life jacket. Drowning. In pain. We didn’t understand how life took this rapid turn and we found ourselves in a perpetual state of hell.

It happens. It happened to me. It happens to everyone. You are not alone. You should know that …

See, that’s all we can ask. That God helps us through it. Our lives have been planned out. There will be good days and there will be bad days. We have to stay committed to knowing that our faith matters. We can’t falter in our faith when we fear the unknown.

Just breathe.

Know that everything is working for your good. You are wonderfully and beautifully made to survive any test or trial that comes your way. Be encouraged.

Just breathe.

I remember being on the floor crying out in pain asking God “Why has thou forsaken me?” Only to hear him whisper “I haven’t. Get up. It’s done.” Even when I feel like I can’t go on and take any more I try to whisper “Dear God, just give me the strength to endure.”

I breathe.

I’ve been at the end of my rope. There were times I didn’t know which way to turn or who could help me. I called on the One. The One who is always available. Who sees my tears and knows that His child is crying. He will see me through this troubled time. He will see you through your troubled times.

Breathe.

Don’t let the trouble you find yourself in define who you are. You are beautifully and wonderfully made in the Master’s image. So, you’ve made mistakes. Who hasn’t? The key is to know that there is always something bigger in store for you. Your greater is coming.

MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY MOMENT – 5/15/2017

Today’s Motivational Monday Moment is about focus. Focusing on what you can and can’t control. Ya’ll know that I’m a control freak and I like to control all the things in my life. I hate surprises. I hate feeling like I have no control over the things that are happening in my life. But, I’m not alone.

99273698b04e8eebd20dab81918ac451

My mom and I were having a discussion and she said “Focus on what you can control and don’t worry about what you can’t.” I let it sit in my spirit for a few days and realized she was right. I can’t control everything. Heck, truthfully speaking I have no control over a lot of things, but I can control how I react to things and not worry about things.

Focus-On-What-You-Can-Control

I needed to stop being distracted by the BS of others and focus on what matters most to me. Not the things that have nothing to do with me. Control. Shift my thinking and trust that everything is working for the good of God. Too many distractions where shifting my focus. Maybe that’s why I was mentally exhausted. Tired and lacked motivation. I was focusing on the wrong things. Things that weren’t making me happy. I was letting them depress me.

8214910206_49424338cf_z

Not anymore. I needed to change my circumstance. Re-frame my mindset and focus on what I can control. What can I control? My emotions. My response. My heart. Those are things in my control. Everything else is beyond my control. I trust that whatever happens, God’s got me. All that I need to do is give it to Him and focus on living each day with purpose. That’s it that’s all.

So, my Motivational Monday Moment is all about focusing on you. Stop trying to control the things you can’t control. Control how you let the things affect you. Your emotions. Your response. And as my momma said “Focus on what you can control and don’t worry about what you can’t.”

MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY MOMENT – 5/1/2017

It’s the first day of a new month. The fifth month of the year. We’re almost halfway through 2017 and it feels like we just started. So, many things to tell you. Too much to share, but I wanted to inspire you this morning. How? By sharing my Motivational Monday Moment. My Motivational Monday Moment is about trusting God.

34804-Trust-God

Last week I was in a mood. A foul and painful mood. Friday, I had my break through. I wrote about it in my post Tired. I was struggling through some things that had my spirit restless, but I have to testify this morning. I have to share with you how awesome God is at reminding me that He is in the midst of all my storms.

Last week, I was talking to Mr. C. It was the same conversation – my concerns and angst about my situation. He’d been praying for me. Trying to renew my faith because I was struggling. He’d been encouraging me to trust God. “I do” I sighed. But, I wasn’t acting like it. “Pray” he said. “I am” I told him. I sighed.

his timing

I realized that I was being a finicky Christian. I was letting my storms blow into my life and create havoc instead of anchoring my spirit in the Lord. Man oh Man when I tell you that God has a way of reaching me when I am in the pit of despair and the depths of hell – I have to tell you that He hears all and knows all.

It started last week and continued through Friday.  I was posting more on Twitter and Facebook than I ever had.  I was motivated, pumped and inspired because I knew that God had not forgotten me or my situation. My situation may have seemed small in comparison to what others are going through, but trust me when I tell you that it was embedded in my mind and spirit. It had caused me to become unhinged.

I-trust-God

But, my breakthrough came and I want to let you know that yours will come too. Don’t give up. Don’t be discouraged. This is not the end of you or your story. You have to be encouraged and know that even when you find yourself walking through hell, you need to know that God will not leave you. It says so in Psalms 23:4

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

So, my Motivational Monday Moment is to remind you to trust. No matter what hell you find yourself walking through, I need you to trust that you are not alone. Be still. Be strong and no that you should have no fear because God is with you always.

MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY MOMENT – 4/24/2017

It’s the last Monday of April and the last Motivational Monday Moment of the month. Today’s Motivational Monday Moment is about being yourself. Love the real you. All the flaws and imperfections.  This is something that I used to struggle with a lot. I didn’t want to show my true self to anyone. Yes, I’m kind hearted. Yes, I’m a great friend. Yes, I am a lover of humanity, but I’m also afraid of being hurt. So, I hide my true self. I hide my flaws and imperfections.

4fc0a320f1595706b2830aa1daa4057f

It’s something I’m learning to stop doing. I’m learning to be just me. I can be a brat. I can be emotional. I can be sensitive. I can be a mess sometimes. I own it. I’m no longer afraid to admit it. Last week, I got mad at Mr. C over something he said and I told him that he was being both arrogant and dismissive. He paused and said “Arrogant?” He explained his reaction and apologized, but he didn’t think he was being arrogant. I disagreed.

I wanted to get off the phone. My feelings were hurt. He was cool with it. An hour goes by and I see a funny meme on Facebook. I share it with him. He doesn’t respond. I call him. No answer. I send him a text “So, you’re ignoring me?”

LOL, yep I can be bratty. He called right back to say that he wasn’t ignoring me. He just walked back in the room after spending time with his son. He said he realized that my feelings were hurt and respected that. He let me have my moment. I didn’t want to go to bed with hurt feelings or animosity in my spirit. I wanted to let him know that. He knew.

He puts things in a box and pushes them off the cliff. He doesn’t hold on to things. He’s totally different from me on that end. I’m learning. So, I told him that I know that he didn’t mean to hurt my feelings and I wanted us to work it out before I close my eyes. I didn’t want anything to disrupt my sleep.

He laughed that beautiful laugh and I realized that I’m happy and blessed. Why? Because I found someone that loves the imperfect me. The person who can get on his nerves or get in her feelings and he be man enough to give me space and still make me feel as though I am the most important person in this world.

Authenticity-Quote-1

I’ve never been my authentic self with anyone outside of my two best friends. I was always afraid to let people in. Let people get to know the unguarded me.  It’s been an interesting experience because I’m learning to allow people in and have them love the imperfections of me. The entire me.

So, this Motivational Monday Moment is about letting your light shine. Let your light shine on all your imperfections and flaws and own them. Don’t hide behind your insecurities and know that it’s okay to be flawed. You’re perfect just the way that you are. Love the person looking back in the mirror.

Motivational Monday Moment– 4/3/2017

This Motivational Monday Moment is inspired by my sister girl who is going through some things. We talked last week and she was in good spirits where others may have been on the floor crying about their lot in life, she was keeping it in a positive perspective. Her response was “It could have been worse and God’s always got me.” Whew!

That was a testimony. So, I wanted to share that with you. I wanted to encourage you to put your circumstances and trials in a positive perspective. It’s easy to get disappointed and discouraged about things you’re going through. Heck, I’m going through some things now and I’m trying to remember that it could be worse.

Her attitude was such that she knew that no matter what the outcome of her situation that God’s got her. I was so amazed by it. Her positive perspective about her situation was what I needed to remind me that God’s grace is for everyone.

Here’s an example of how I utilized her advice…On Friday, I received an email from the after care provider stating that she left her cell phone at home.  I forwarded the email to my ex-husband as he was picking up Munch from school that day to take him to get his haircut or so I thought.

He responded to me that he was not picking up our son and that he had gotten his haircut last week because his hair looked bad and he had an event. I was floored. Why wouldn’t you just send me a text and/or email and let me know that so I knew to pick up my son on time?

As you could imagine, I was H-O-T! Why the heck didn’t you tell me? You know the answer that I received “I thought I did.” If that wasn’t some cockamamie BS, I didn’t know what was. I said a prayer “God help me”. I thought about how I normally work late whenever I don’t have Munch and that he would have been sitting at school like a lost child because his father had failed to communicate.

You know what happened next? God showed me that I needed to put it in a positive perspective. How could I do that? By accepting that thankfully the director had contacted me and I had checked my email.  That counted for something. My son wasn’t sitting there like an abandoned puppy. I smiled and thanked God.

No matter what my lot in life or the circumstances of my surroundings, God is and will always be God. It never changes. So, my Motivational Monday Moment is to remind you to put it in a positive perspective. No matter what is going on. Change your mindset and allow God to handle it.

Be blessed my loves!
